We are seeking a talented marketing mind, with a can-do attitude, to focus on all aspects of Turning Point’s marketing. You would be responsible for demand and lead generation in primarily South Africa but also beyond, through a number of marketing channels, including inbound marketing tactics like email and social media. You will work closely with regional sales managers and representatives to build a successful, sustainable marketing strategy and maintain it to service current customers and obtain future customers with the goal of turning interested, qualified leads into successful customers.


  • Define a region-specific marketing plan based on the overall company marketing strategy.
  • Run the Turning Point website and maintenance thereof, prioritising the uploading of new photos and keeping the website up to date and fresh.
  • Create, implement and maintain a marketing plan through top-of-funnel channels like social media and blogging, middle-of-funnel channels like email nurturing, and bottom-of-funnel activities with sales teammates.
  • Assist regional sales managers as needed, including increasing brand awareness locally/regionally and driving leads.
  • Create the strategy for nurturing our leads through a mix of helpful content and other calls-to-action.
  • Find new approaches to lead nurturing, including but not limited to channels like email, social media, blogging, and events.
  • Deliver training and sales tools to our reps to help them be more efficient and effective.
  • Perform and manage competitive research and help position us to win more customers.
  • Create and implement new projects and develop creative ideas that help improve customer success — from customer content and communication, to our approach, to marketing automation.
  • Speak and present both internally and externally to promote the story of our product.

  • BA/BComm Marketing degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Excellent knowledge across the following social media platforms for business: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest as well as email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics or other analytics platforms
  • Experience in website maintenance
  • Excellent command of all marketing tactics
  • Excellent writer and communicator with the ability to align that communication with the larger company tone.
  • A nose for good product marketing and product UI, and the ability to educate in ways that our customers will understand.

 Ideal candidate – All of the above and including:

  • Familiarity with Photoshop or similar design programs
  • Familiar with and experience in Woocommerce backend
  • Is currently a dancer or has danced before- i.e passionate about dance!
  • Bonus: Working knowledge of paid keywords and SEO.

Turning Point®, one of the leading dance specialty retailers in South Africa, is searching for an out-going and friendly female weekend market sales manager to assist in growing our brand while enjoying the exciting atmosphere of weekend markets in either Pretoria and/or Cape Town, South Africa. It is possible that you will be responsible for the training of a second sales representative to work with you if needed.
